Is counselling or psychotherapy for you?
People consult psychotherapists and counsellors for many reasons, both specific and general, including:
Anxiety
Anger
Bereavement
Depression
Stress
Lack of Confidence, low self-esteem
Relationship Issues
Sexual Difficulties
Work Issues
Issues of identity and personal development
Whatever your reason, you will be taken seriously. Many people recommend counselling or therapy to others, reluctant or ashamed to admit that it could be of benefit to themselves, as they see consulting a professional as an admission of weakness rather than a courageous step.
Who I am:
I am an experienced, professionally qualified counsellor and psychotherapist and I have been working in Chiswick since 1996. I also work part-time in the NHS and have worked in other public settings.
I am committed to offering counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment.
I work with individuals on an open-ended or time-limited basis.
I have substantial experience working with a wide variety of people of different backgrounds and ages, with difficulties of both recent and long-term origin.
Psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy can be a surprising experience and not how you imagine it. As well as aiming to help with the immediate difficulty, it also aims to develop greater self knowledge and awareness through the relationship with the counsellor/therapist, which can help you to feel more in control of your feelings, your relationships and your life in general.
My consulting room is on the Chiswick/Acton border. The nearest tube stations are Turnham Green or Chiswick Park (10-15 minutes walk) and there are numerous buses to Chiswick High Rd or the Uxbridge Rd. South Acton station is 5 minutes walk away on the North London line, making it easily accessible from many parts of London.
The other pages on this website may help you find out more. You are welcome to contact me by telephone or email if you have further questions. As you are likely to get my answer phone, please leave your name and number together with some days and times when you are free.
